Kit Worthington Foundation for the Arts (the GiG) Announces Grant Opportunity for Musicians, Artists and Playwrights.

The McCall based Kit Worthington Foundation for the Arts (the GiG) invites grant requests from musicians, artists and playwrights from McCall, Donnelly and New Meadows. The mission of the foundation is to help musicians, artists and playwrights achieve their dreams through education, inspiration and opportunity. The foundation will strengthen and connect the local community to the arts through events, programs and scholarships.

Grants will be awarded to individuals and nonprofit organizations that are interested in pursuing their artistic goals and contributing to a vibrant local arts community. Funds to support the Kit Worthington Foundation's grant making program are raised through the annual "GiG" wine tasting and silent auction held at the Bistro 45 each spring and through other GiG activities. This year the foundation will award grants of up to $1,000 in August. Applicants should submit a one- page application letter that includes a personal statement about artistic goals, a description of how funds will be used, how the request meets the mission statement of the organization, an itemized budget and contact information. The request should be mailed to the Kit Worthington Foundation for the Arts, c/o Pam Thomas 154 Silver Fox Trail, McCall, ID 83638. The request letter must be postmarked no later than July 19, 2010. The Gig (Kit Worthington Foundation for the Arts) is a non-profit foundation created to help musicians, artists, and playwrights aspire to their dreams through education, inspiration, and opportunity.
